💡Tip of the Week
I Can’t Stand Mondays
Let's face it, Mondays can feel like a mountain to climb.
But here's a game-changing hack that's transformed my Mondays.
The evening before the work week begins, I spend just 30 minutes doing this …..
1️⃣ I Review the Week Ahead: I check my calendar to understand the week’s timetable. It sets the stage for what's to come. I set any meetings that I need to set.
2️⃣ I Craft My To-Do List: I create a to-do list for the next day. Knowing my priorities in advance minimises morning chaos. It also helps to empty my mind.
3️⃣ I Streamline My Workflow: I tidy up my workflow queue—we all have one. Decluttering my digital workspace creates a zen-like environment.
4️⃣ I Plan to Spread Positivity: I identify two colleagues I want to make feel special. A simple message or gesture can go a long way in brightening someone's day. Cheesey? I know. Impactful? Hugely.
This ritual clears my mind, provides a clear path forward, and allows me to dive into the week's challenges with a sense of purpose. 🚀
Even if the unexpected happens (and it usually does), this keeps me on track. It's a small investment that yields big returns in productivity and positivity.

🗣️ Buzzwords
Dopamine decor - bright colours, clashing patterns, and full-on maximalism are the defining features of the latest interior design trend making its rounds on TikTok.
Anti-ghosting - refers to letting a person you’ve gone out with know that you don’t want to continue seeing them, often via a text message. (Ed: Sounds ‘Old School’ to me)
Skiplagging - instead of booking a direct flight to a destination, skiplagging travellers book cheaper flights on longer routes that include a layover at their desired airport. They then deplane during the connection without completing the full journey.

The 9/11 disaster threw up many lessons.
The one that resonates with me is about the importance of connection.
As 9/11 unfolded and it became obvious that planes in the air were at risk, there was a need to get every flight back on the ground.
Immediately.
✈️ It's estimated there were around 5000 flights in progress over the US.
The Flight Controller's Handbook outlines how to redirect a handful of flights due to an emergency at an airport - but nothing about landing 5000 of them.
Many of the larger airports soon become traffic-jammed.
The Traffic Controllers began ringing around the other smaller airports booking landing slots.
They were relying on their personal connections.
They dug out their own contact list to make the calls.
🛬 Two hours later all flights were back on the ground, safely.
Without the relationships and connections among air traffic controllers, it's unlikely the solution would have been so speedy.
A company's ability to respond to the unpredictable is largely a function of the strength of its internal connections.
